First steps...

Usually it is winter time when people start new projects or transforming ideas into action, but I decided to do this right now. This is my 2nd Blog - the first one
is more for family and friends that followed our immigration journey to Canada. We are originally from Germany.
Now we are permanent residents and live in Northern British Columbia and we fulfilled our dream of buying acreage!
OK now we have acreage, millions of dreams, ideas, plans and projects on our mind....the hardest is always to decide where to start.
For us it was kind of easier as our family was visiting us a few months after the purchase which was July 2013 therefore we needed to get the interior in shape.

This is our home this fall

This picture was taken early June/2014

We live in a over 30 year old log home that needs maintenance and a lot of TLC and we are surrounded by 16 acres of partially leveled land as well as some slopes, hills and pastures.

This blog will be about making our dream come true: Homesteading!
My personal principles are organic gardening as well as introducing permaculture and forest/perennial gardening - which is quite a challenge when you are a beginner....we are starting from scratch - but I love it!

Here are some views of parts our property over the past 1.5 years

As I am a Registered Nurse I am very passionate about naturopathy and want to create a herb as well as medicinal garden to start making homemade soaps, essential oils, salves and balms and I want to attract pollinators and two of my favorite plants are comfrey and borage!
A closer look on comfrey and borage will follow....
I hope I will find some same-minded followers to share experiences with!
